Our school-aged Learn to Swim program is a comprehensive course that caters to everyone, from hesitant beginners to swimmers refining all four strokes. The levels are designed to help children progress and build the foundational skills for Freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke, and Butterfly.

Class Duration: 30 Minutes

Distance covered: 1 to 3 meter

In the Earth level, you are a beginner swimmer aged 5 to 10 years. This may be your first swimming lesson, or you may have had some limited practice before. You’ll be introduced to the water in a fun way, focusing on basic movements and water safety. You’ll work on floating and gliding skills, both with and without the instructor’s assistance.

Floating and recovery - assisted
Confidence to perform an assisted 5 second front float, rotating to a 5 second assisted back float and swims to wall.

Push and glide - front
The ability to independently push & glide in a streamline position, blowing bubbles.
5m freestyle streamline

The ability to confidently swim independently, with basic breathing skills.
Back kick - assisted
With assistance kick on back, with a strong kick and correct body position.

In the Jupiter level, you are a progressing swimmer aged 5 to 10 years. With past swimming experience, you should feel comfortable in the water. You will be able to float and glide without the instructor’s assistance or buoyancy aids. This level focuses on developing your water movement skills, with an emphasis on kicking, both on your front and back. You’ll also work on basic freestyle arm actions, aiming to swim 3 to 5 meters.

In Venus, you are an experienced swimmer aged 3 to 5 years. With extensive swimming experience, you should feel confident in the water. With the teacher’s guidance, you’ll continue to practice basic swimming movements, working towards swimming short distances of 3 to 5 meters independently, without assistance.

In the Mars level, you are a developing swimmer aged 5 to 12 years. With prior swimming experience, you should be able to swim freestyle and backstroke for 12.5 meters without assistance. In this level, you’ll focus on improving your Butterfly and Breaststroke kicks, demonstrating a 5-meter survival backstroke, and learning tumble turns. You will also work on developing the basic Breaststroke arm action. This level emphasizes stroke development, refining your competitive stroke kicks, and perfecting freestyle breathing.

Drop down underwater, push off in a streamline with correct head, body and arm position and continuous kick.
25m Freestyle
Confidently swim 25m freestyle, with a propulsive kick and efficient bilateral breathing.
Freestyle turns
Complete a tumble turn, streamline and continually swim freestyle with bilateral breathing pattern.
25m Backstroke
Confidently swim 25m backstroke with a propulsive kick, maintaining continuous arm action and good body position.
Backstroke turns
Completes a backstroke tumble turn with correct entry, body position on wall and exits in streamline position
Breaststroke pull out
Basic understanding of an underwater breaststroke pull out, continuously swim.
25m Breaststroke
Breaststroke with correct timing, propulsive kick and building endurance.
Swimming endurance, 100m individual medley
The ability to swim 100m continuously, 25m of Butterfly, Backstroke, Breaststroke, Freestyle

Distance covered: 12.5 to 50 meters

In the Neptune level, you are a competent swimmer aged 5 to 14 years. With extensive swimming experience, you should be able to swim freestyle and backstroke with proper technique. You will also have been introduced to competitive strokes like breaststroke and butterfly and should be able to demonstrate the basic kick for each of these strokes. In this level, you’ll work on perfecting all four swimming strokes, ensuring you can swim them with correct technique for distances of 12.5 to 50 meters. You’ll also demonstrate effective underwater push-starts off the wall, perform surface dives, swim underwater, and recover an object from chest-deep water. Additionally, you will develop and demonstrate the basic Butterfly arm action.
