Parents and Bubs 6 to 24 months

This is the entry point for swimming lessons for children aged six months to two years. In this introductory infant level, you and your baby will explore water familiarisation through gentle play, songs, and repetition of basic aquatic skills. A parent must be in the water with the child throughout this program.

Parents and Bubs 24 to 36 months

This level is designed for infants aged two to three years. The focus is on helping the child move towards independent swimming and preparing them to join group classes without a parent in the water. A parent must remain in the water with the child throughout this program.

Pre-school programs
Our Preschool Program fosters independent swimming in a confident and safe environment. We focus on promoting safety skills and developing swimming strokes throughout the preschool years, helping children build the confidence and skills to enjoy the aquatic environment.

Jelly Fish

As a Jelly Fish, you are a beginner swimmer aged 3 to 5 years. This may be your first time in swimming lessons, or you may have had limited practice before. You will be introduced to the water in a fun and engaging way, encouraging basic movements and water safety skills.

With the teacher’s guidance, you’ll work on basic swimming movements and start developing survival skills like floating. You’ll also improve your water movement techniques, such as kicking and pulling.

This level focuses on developing your water movement skills, with an emphasis on kicking, both on your front and back. You’ll also work on basic freestyle arm actions, aiming to swim 3 to 5 meters.

As a Croc, you are a developing swimmer aged 5 to 12 years. With past swimming experience, you should be comfortable in the water without the need for buoyancy aids or instructor assistance. You will be able to float, glide, and swim across the pool using effective kicking and arm movements for a distance of 8 meters. In this level, you’ll focus on refining your freestyle technique, demonstrating side breathing in a horizontal position, and practicing backstroke with your ears in the water. You’ll also work on basic breaststroke.

As a Hippo, you are a developing swimmer aged 5 to 12 years. With prior swimming experience, you should be able to swim freestyle and backstroke for 12.5 meters without assistance. In this level, you’ll focus on improving your Butterfly and Breaststroke kicks, demonstrating a 5-meter survival backstroke, and learning tumble turns. You will also work on developing the basic Breaststroke arm action. This level emphasizes stroke development, refining your competitive stroke kicks, and perfecting freestyle breathing.

Orcas
Class Duration: 45 Minutes

As an Orca, you are a competent swimmer aged 5 to 14 years. With extensive swimming experience, you should be able to swim freestyle and backstroke with proper technique. You will also have been introduced to competitive strokes like breaststroke and butterfly and should be able to demonstrate the basic kick for each of these strokes. In this level, you’ll work on perfecting all four swimming strokes, ensuring you can swim them with correct technique for distances of 12.5 to 50 meters. You’ll also demonstrate effective underwater push-starts off the wall, perform surface dives, swim underwater, and recover an object from chest-deep water. Additionally, you will develop and demonstrate the basic Butterfly arm action.

As a Teenage Beginner, you are a new student aged 10 to 17 years. This may be your first time in swimming lessons, or you may have had limited swimming experience. You will focus on floating and gliding skills, both with and without the instructor’s help, and begin progressing to basic water movement techniques. You’ll work on kicking, both on your front and back, and develop basic freestyle arm action for distances of 1 to 8 meters.

As an Adult Beginner, you are a new student aged 18 and over. This may be your first swimming lesson, or you may have had limited swimming experience. You’ll focus on floating and gliding skills, both with and without the instructor’s assistance, and progress towards mastering basic water movement on your front and back. You will work on your basic freestyle technique, including side breathing in a horizontal position, and backstroke with your ears in the water, all unassisted.

You’ll also develop the skills for basic Breaststroke arm action. This level focuses on refining stroke techniques, enhancing competitive stroke kicks, and improving freestyle breathing.
